We're Total Therapy Studios, the leading provider of physical and holistic therapies, Pilates and movement classes, and equipment Pilates in the local area.
We're famous for our broad range of classes, expert therapists, and friendly approach across our two clinics in the centre of Horsham.

Equipment Pilates Studio
Our equipment studio launched in 2021, and since then has gone from strength-to-strength. We've now increased the amount of equipment which allows you to experience this great form of Pilates in small-group sessions or one-to-one. Our team of instructors are able to support you in completing a bespoke programme which will help with overall movement, strength, and stability. Building on the range of small portable equipment such as resistance bands, magic circles and weights, we've the key range of larger equipment too. This includes reformers, cadillacs, barrels and chairs, along with with a weight tower to create a great environment for exercise - all under the guidance and focus of our expert team.

There's two ways to take part. We have group sessions - with a maximum of four people - and these are managed in the same way as our normal classes. You can find the times of these on the timetable page of our website, and read more on the classes page. We also offer one-to-one sessions too, where you'll get the individual attention from your instructor to ensure that you're delivering the exercises correctly (please note that very occasionally there may be another one-to-one session happening at the same time).

To make sure you're safe using the equipment, it's absolutely vital that ALL clients have an induction session with us before taking part in group classes or one-to-ones with us. So if you'd like to start the ball rolling, then please give us a call on 01403 249 511 so we can book one of these induction sessions. We'll find a time when you can meet with one of our instructors for this hour long first session, which are offered at a reduced price of just £35.

Why Equipment Pilates?

Ultimately the Pilates system of exercise is based around resistance. When doing Pilates on a mat or using Pilates equipment the amount of resistance and tension can often vary. This is due to either the body position, or use of small apparatus such as bands. However, by using a reformer, cadillac, weight stack, or other equipment this can be consistently regulated. We know that some of the equipment that we use might resemble something from a torture chamber, however everything is designed to create planes of movement within which you can complete the exercises. The use of equipment also means that your exercise is regulated within strict planes of movement which supports conditioning to specific muscle groups.

The adjustable levels of resistance mean that you can work with your instructor to progress your exercise in a very consistent way, ensuring a discipline of movement, and clearly demonstable improvements. There are over 500 documented exercises on the reformer alone, and with different variations of each of these in terms of position and resistance it's possible to tailor your exercise almost infinitely to create the right session for you.
Group Sessions

The best way to experience Equipment Pilates is via one of our small-group sessions. Having increased the amount of equipment we use, these have a maximum of four people in them (though often run at three). In a group session, you all work together under the guidance of one of our expert instructors, and will each work on your own bespoke programme.

These sessions are bookable via our online class management system, which gives you ultimate flexiblity around when to attend.

You can pay for the sessions either on a pay-as-you-go basis, or to make things easier and more efficient you can also buy a six pack of equipment studio passes. More details on the prices page.
One-to-one sessions

If you're looking for a deeper and more focused experience, then why not book up for a one-to-one session with one of our instructors. During this session they will be able to give you 100% focus, using their expansive knowledge to ensure that you progress.

Please note, like many Equipment Pilates studios, there may be another one-to-one session happening in the studio at the same time

If you'd like to check on availablitly for one-to-one sessions then simply give our reception a call, and we'll connect you with your chosen instructor so we can book you in at a time that works.
